Value Statement

Our goal is to provide a coordinated, wholistic approach to health service programming that reflects Wahnapitae First Nation’s priorities, values, and Anishinaabe culture, traditions, and language. We are committed to delivering high-quality, accessible, and culturally safe health services guided by the voices and needs of our community. Rooted in Indigenous knowledge and practices, our programs are flexible, effective, and continually shaped through ongoing community partnership and input. We recognize the importance of supporting the whole person—physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and socially—and are developing traditional wellness programs, as well as strategies to address lateral violence, improve health and safety, and expand infrastructure for youth, seniors, and childcare. Our services promote community ownership and strive for excellence by embedding Indigenous best practices, engaging in quality evaluation, and working toward accreditation. Together, we are building a health system that is inclusive, accountable, and reflective of our shared vision for wellness.
